General
Haute Nendaz (alt. 1500 meter) is located right above the Swiss city of Sion. From Sion its only takes 15-20 min. (12km) by car to get to Chalet Jaliver.
The Chalet is ideally located at only 400m from the center of Haute Nendaz and 500m from the slopes (access to Haute Nendaz Telecabine). Within walking distance you will find a wide range of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, ski rental options, etc.
Ski Rental
The closest ski rental place to the chalet and the slopes is Intersport Mariéthoz. Intersport provides lockers which are 20 meters from the entrance of the Nendaz Telecabine. Lockers are convenient to store your ski booths and ski’s/snowboard so you do not have to log them to and from the chalet every day. Intersport Mariéthoz is 5-10 minutes walking from Chalet Jaliver.
Ski rental is also available at Gaby Sports and Neige Aventure.
Parking at Nendaz Telecabine / Bus service to Siviez
There is also public parking available in front of the Nendaz Telecabine at a cost of 5 CHF/day. Arrive early to assure yourself a parking spot.
There is a free bus service that runs every 15-20 minutes from the Nendaz Telecabine parking to Siviez. The trip lasts approximately 20 minutes and drops you at Siviez where you can chose to take ski lifts to either Veysonnaz, Thyon 2000, Verbier or Mont Fort.
Should you prefer to drive to Siviez this is also possible. There is large free parking provided at Siviez area but please leave early during peak season as the parking fills up fast in the morning.
Connecting the 4 Valleys
You can check which lifts are open/closed in the entire ski area online every day via following link. If you start skiing from Nendaz the most important link to check is if Plan du Fou is open. This is the ski lift that connects Nendaz to Verbier/Veysonnaz/Mont Fort. If it is not open you will only be able to ski in Nendaz unless you take the free shuttle bus to Siviez or drive there with your own car.
Supermarkets
There are several supermarkets in Nendaz. The largest are COOP and Migros which are close by the ice skating ring (15 minutes walking distance or 3 minutes by car). The closest supermarket PAM is just down Chemin des Cleves, on +/- 5 minutes by foot. Next to PAM you will find a fresh bakery as well.
Restaurants
The closest restaurant to Chalet Jaliver is Tchin Tchin Piano Bar and Pizza Restaurant. It is less than 5 minutes walk. Highly recommended and nice atmosphere. Website or +41 27 288 25 10
If you are looking for some great Swiss food and very tender meat try Le Grenier. This restaurant is right at the bottom of the Nendaz Telecabine. Reservations are recommended. Le Grenier is a 10 minutes walk from the chalet. Website or +41 27 288 24 40.
Right in the centre of Nendaz (at the roundabout) you have restaurant L’Atmosphere. The restaurant serves traditional Swiss fondues, steak and hot stone dishes and a great selection of desserts. Once you reach the Nendaz roundabout you walk up one level (entry next to Kebab place) and the restaurant is located there. Website or +41 27 288 70 08. Restaurant Humeau les Cleves is located on Route des Cleves. If you exit Chalet Jaliver you continue up Route des Cleves, take the hairpin turn and continue for 1 kilometer until you reach the slopes and parking lot. From here you can walk to Humeau les Cleves restaurant which is located opposite Bob’s bar. The restaurant serves typical Swiss dishes, pizza and great hamburgers. Website or +41 27 565 80 80.
About 7 minutes walk from the chalet (towards the main roundabout you have restaurant Mont Rouge which has 15/20 score in Gault&Millau. Mont Rouge offers refined cuisine and will cost you about 80-120 CHF per person (excluding wine). Website or +41 27 288 11 66.
Nendaz has one upscale 4 star resort Hotel Nendaz. It is located right next to the ice skating ring. The restaurant has a nice bar and restaurant as well as full spa facility. Website or +42 27 611 11 11.
Right next to Hotel Nendaz there is a free passenger lift that takes you right up to the Nendaz Telecabine. It is referred to as the Funicular. It is open daily from 6am to midnight.

While Nendaz should not be compared to Austria for its après-ski it does provide some nice bars for those who are restless at night. Some options are:

Nendaz has a few clubs: Flambeaux, Oxygene and Le Feeling. Closing time is usually around 4am.
